STUFF: Toothpaste

This week we kicked off a new series called “Stuff.” Each week we’ll be taking a look at a different everyday object to see how we can use it to apply God’s word to our lives.

This week we took a close look at Toothpaste. When you use toothpaste you have to remember 1) to be careful not to let too much out, 2) once it is out it can’t be put back, 3) it can really make a mess. We saw that our words are exactly the same. James 1:19 tells us to be cautious with our words and James 3:2-5 talks about the importance of controlling the things we say.

Our challenge this week is to control our words, especially with family, friends and siblings, and use them to build others up rather than speaking in anger and tearing them down.
