Just over 40 of us headed down to Hidden Valley Ski Resort this past weekend for an awesome trip. It was fun to see some new faces and make some new friends. Pictures are up now on Facebook so check them out and make sure you don’t miss it next year!
About 50 of us headed up to Little Galilee last weekend for our annual Fall Retreat. We had a blast and talked about some things God may want us to wake up to in our lives. Make sure you check out some of the pictures on Facebook.
What an amazing weekend! We had record numbers (by far!) at our annual all night Roundabout event. We had 266 Jr. High students, plus lots of great adults. We went all around town ice skating, playing crazy games on the ice, bowling, playing dodgeball, eating snacks, playing video games, and we ended it all watching Cars 2 (at least the people who weren’t fast asleep in the theater). Thanks for inviting your friends and making it such a great night!
We had terrific night on Sunday welcoming in a great new class of 6th graders. Just over 60 students came out for weird food (spaghetti tacos, mashed potato ice cream cones, kitty litter, etc) and weird fun. Why would anyone want to fit in when it’s so much fun being weird? We had an AWESOME week last week out at Lake Springfield Christian Assembly. We had 102 kidswith 10 baptisms and many more rededications by the end of the week! You can see lots of pictures of our week on our Jr. High 1 Facebook page.
We had a very warm, but great, Saturday at the car wash! By the end of our time together, we washed a total of 66 cars and collected over $850. Not bad for a free car wash! If you had people give you pledges based on the number of cars we washed, multiply their pledge by 66 cars. We’re hoping to have all car wash pledges turned in by this Sunday if at all possible.

If you weren’t at Velocity on Sunday you missed a really fun morning. We signed close to 700 beach balls to send to our friends in Kenya. You can check out some of the pictures on our Facebook page now. We also watched a video shot in Kenya several years ago showing life in the Mathare slum and the difference the Missions of Hope schools have made in the life of several students we sponsor. Over 200 joined us for this year’s Roundabout and we had a blast at the YMCA, King Pin Lanes, Camp and Showplace East. Thanks to everyone who joined us and invited friends!
We had a blast at our annual YB Normal Welcome Dinner to kick off a new year with a great new class of 6th graders!
